Today (July 10th) is finally here. It was an long wait and I will admit that some anxiety was present all along. Even with all the positive thoughts and caring from family and friends, ocassionally the negative thought engine took over – What if????
Even this morning as we were driving @ 5:15 to the hospital Judy declared “well I made it to today”.
The check-in seemed like old hat – I’m not sure that’s a good thing. The pre-op questions seemed redundant, repetitive and routine. I felt like I could finish the nurse’s sentences for her! But all went well and Judy was taken @ 7:15 to be prepped for surgery and anesthetic.
We (Julie, Jason & Gina) in the 3rd floor waiting room keeping our eye on the monitor that shows Judy’s process/progress – not a lot of information (Ready for OR, Anesthesia Started, Procedure Started); then we wait until we here from the doctor. The OR is booked from 8:00 to 5:30 although Dr. Sinclair did tell us that surgery would take about 7 1/2 hours.
We will be so happy to have this over with, and into the back of our minds at least. More details will follow after we’ve heard from the doctor and we see Judy in recovery – towards the end of the day.
Oh….the title “2 Million Dollar Lady”. The other day I said to Judy “after you get your head fixed you’ll be worth a million bucks”. She reminded me “I’m already worth a million bucks, it will be $2 million after my surgery!” ????

What a wonderful attitude you two have. It’s why you’ve gotten to today and why you will have a long lifetime of tomorrows together. Trevor and I will be away until Thursday but if there is anything we can do let us know. We will be thinking of Judy and are confident she will be in competent hands and loving arms.
